Welcome to Cinedans

The entry-call for Cinedans FEST 2026 is now open!

You can submit your film in one of the following categories:

  • INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION 2026 (€20,- entry fee)
    Fiction and experimental films up to 25min.
  • INTERNATIONAL SHORT DOCS COMPETITION 2026 (no entry fee)
    Documentaries up to 25min. Performance registrations & relays should be submitted in the Out of Competition section.
  • OUTSIDE OF COMPETITION 2026 (no entry fee)
    Features, Documentaries (>25min), Performance Relay (any length), Installations, Stereoscopic and Virtual Reality projects

DEADLINES:

  • June 30th 2025 (extended deadline) for the international productions of the Short Film Competition 2026.
  • September 1st 2025 for the Short Docs Competition 2026 and all Dutch productions of the Short Films Competition & New Dutch section (out of competition)

Please note:

  • The International Student Competition for shorts takes place in 2027. An open call will be announce by April 2026. Any student films submitted will be considered after the open call is announced.
  • Dutch short films up to 25 min are considered both for the International Short Film Competition ’26 and the New Dutch ’26 section (out of competition). It is up to the selection committee to decide on the final category placement of the film.
  • If your film is in progress, you can still submit it. Make sure to include all information or materials you have and clearly state by when we could receive a screener link. Note that we would prefer to have a preview by October ’25 so that we can ensure there is enough space in our programming.
  • For installation work and other proposals you can send additional materials to entry@cinedans.nl. Keep in mind that you must submit your project through our entry portal to be considered.
  • Cinedans gives emphasis on VR projects. In collaboration with Moovy Festival Köln and Dance Screen Zurich, we seek for projects with strong artistic value that can be toured between the three festivals. Make sure to submit your project!

The 22nd edition of Cinedans FEST that hosts the International Short Film Competition and the International Short Docs Competition will take place 25-29 March 2026 at Eye Filmmuseum, Amsterdam.
